Two letters were recently sent to Minnesota’s governor and others. The first was sent out by leaders of conservative Lutheran church bodies and districts in Minnesota and the second was signed by presidents of Minnesota Christian colleges. Both are protesting the Minnesota Human Rights Act (MHRA) which, as it stands, violates the right of churches, church schools/colleges, and other church-related entities to teach on sexual and identity matters according to the historic Christian faith and the Lutheran Confessions. Unless changed, the MHRA could be used as a legal weapon against these churches, schools, and colleges who oppose the transsexual ideology that Minnesota has recently adopted.
UPDATE: Efforts to reinstate the exemption for churches and church schools/colleges were successful. The exemption is now in place. This is very good and provides a level of protection for biblical Christians and their institutions, for now. However, the Cultural Marxist/Critical Theory/LGBTQ worldview remains embedded in much of government, its leaders, schools, businesses, social media, etc. Expect this worldview to continue to manifest itself in many ways as we heed the words of the apostle Paul: “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Cor. 16:13-14, ESV)
